ABOUT THE CLASSES

Samba de Rainha, pronounced as  |ˈsæmbə diː haˈiɲa | is a Brazilian Samba dance class for anyone willing to learn Brazilian culture through 

Brazilian music and Samba no pé.

"Rainha" means Queen in Portuguese, and Samba de Rainha stands for Samba of a Queen. First, we are in the land of mighty Queens. Second, Samba de Rainha is an empowerment movement where everyone is encouraged to discover and express their essence through Brazilian Dance. Through Samba de Rainha's classes, one will improve confidence and self-esteem.

Improve your Samba skills and learn a little bit of Portuguese. Whether you aim to be a professional Brazilian Samba dancer, participate in Brazil's Carnaval or Carnivals in Europe,  or improve your fitness level, this is the perfect Samba dance class.    

 I'm proud of my culture, Brazilian popular culture. It is one of my biggest passions, and I want you to learn the genuine Brazilian Samba style with its culture, feelings and technique. Watching my beautiful students' sambando (dancing Samba) in an authentic Brazilian style warms my heart.  

I teach and drill the correct set of skills, from fast samba no pé and samba walks to poses and floreios using a variety of Brazilian samba songs. The classes are also a great place to make new friends. Samba de Rainha is also a supportive and friendly community.  

By joining my classes, you can join my performance team, Sambistas da Rainha. Every year, there are opportunities for festival shows and Carnivals here in London, around Europe and Brazil

High heels are optional for intermediate/ advanced levels but highly recommended (you have the opportunity to purchase a Passista High heels through me - I'm often ordering shoes from Brazil). 

Beginners, please wear flat dance shoes.
